1 The Sixth round of the APBA National Tour was set to be a great one with the news of a storm coming in the waves were at 8 feet and made for some exciting racing. The Pro Ski Stock class saw a black Macc Racing Super Jet piloted by Chris MacClugage battle it out with up and coming rider Ben Swanson who was able to make a pass on MacClugage in lap two as Chris was hitting a mandatory equalizer buoy. Macc returned the favor on lap three passing Swanson just before the start/finish line MacClugage went on to take the win in moto one. Moto 2 it was all MacClugage taking the holeshot and the win to secure a Pro Ski Stock victory in Alabama. In the Novice class Kurt Samuels aboard his Macc Racing Yamaha was able to win both of his motos and take the over all win for the weekend. In the Pro Ski GP class MacClugage took the first race fighting off the charge of Rick Sherker’s 951 Kawi-Doo. The waves were getting bigger as the day progressed and when the second moto came around for the GP class the racers were allowed 4 holders as the waves were the biggest they had been all weekend.

If you have been a fan of personal watercraft racing and more importantly motosurf racing, you might recall a race in 2003 of the US ProWatercraft Tour where MacClugage catches 25 feet of air off the start at a race in Sothern California, then fights his way from a dead last start to first place in the matter of 3 laps. In 2008 in Orange Beach, MacClugage thought he would give the crowd a taste of the past by launching that same height off the start waving his left hand in air and claiming the biggest air of the day. Once MacClugage returned to earth he powered his Monster Energy Macc Racing Kawasaki passing Wilson, Colangelo, and finally Sherker. Chris held onto that lead for the remainder of the race to take the over all victory in the GP class for the weekend. The results showed Chris MacClugage 1st, Rick Sherker 2nd, and Jimmy Wilson 3rd.
