The 1st round of the APBA National Watercross Tour was held at the Blue Water Resort in Parker Arizona 30 miles outside of Lake Havasu City. In the GP class aboard a virtually stock Kawasaki SX-R, Chris MacClugage battled from a mid pack position off the start in moto one to defeat 3rd place Jeff Troegner and 2nd place Rick Sherker who was aboard a full Kawasaki Limited SX-R giving Macc a 1st place spot going into moto 2. The final moto for round one was business as usual with The Macc Attack taking the victory in dominating fashion giving him the overall in the GP Ski class heading into round 2. The Day was not over for Chris on Saturday, he had the always difficult task of taking on the Kawasaki Factory Racing Team and Craig Warner aboard the Ultra 250x, in the Pro Runabout Open class. Chris was not intimidated aboard The Macc Racing Ultra 330 he was able to get the hole shot in moto one and hold onto that position, taking the win wire to wire. The second moto was also won by Chris giving him the overall for the day with Eric Francis taking the 2nd place position and Erminio Iantasca taking 3rd.
