In the novice stock class on Friday it was Macc Racing’s Kurt Samuels winning the national title, in dominating fashion. This is Kurt’s first full year of racing and his first National Championship, congratulations Kurt! Rachel MacClugage was also set to race the Pro Women’s ski class on a stock Yamaha Super Jet. Rachel who has raced since a young age had not entered a race in over seven years.
In Moto one Rachel was able to get a good start but was out horse powered by 1st and 2nd she ended up in third place off the start. Rachel was right on the heals of 2nd place but could not get around her, giving Rachel a third place finish in Moto one.
In the second and final Moto, Rachel was able to get another good start and was challenging LeAnn Falvey for second place but Rachel who was on a very under powered ski was not able to get around her. Rachel ended up with a 3rd place finish congratulations Rachel!
In the Pro Ski G.P. class there was a full line of racers including Rob Flores, Rick Sherker, and Chris MacClugage. Chris racing on his Monster Energy Macc Racing SX-R was able to get an easy hole shot in Moto number one feeling no pressure from second place and finishing with about a 3 second lead over the rest of the field.
In Moto number two it was business as usual for the Macc Attack as he was able to lap the majority of the field and walk away with his 11th National Title. The next stop for the Macc Racing team is right in there backyard in Lake Havasu for the 2008 World Finals, good luck team.
