The conclusion to the 11 round APBA US National Tour was held at the Nashville Shores water park in Nashville Tennessee. This race was not only the final round of the tour, but was also the APBA Championship race that counted for double points towards the National Highpoints Championship. Chris MacClugage victorious at every single tour stop, with a first place finish in every race but one, entered the event with a solid lead over second place in the Pro Runabout Stock class. Chris also entered in the Pro Runabout Open class aboard a Macc Racing prepped Yamaha FZR, with all eyes on Macc he was ready to show everyone what the Yamaha FZR was made of. Rachel MacClugage opted not to race the Pro Women’s ski class because she had already secured the National Title in the previous round in Harbor Beach.

In Moto one of the Pro Runabout Stock class Chris got off to a bad start running in 8th place after lap one, Chris was able to fight his way through the pack picking off 7th through 2nd place in a matter of a few laps. On lap 8 Chris made his way around race leader Troy Snider taking over 1st place, from there Chris opened up the gap on the rest of the field finishing in 1st place with a commanding lead over the second place. In Moto 2 Chris having to circle back around and pick up a buoy he missed entering the front straight on lap one, put him in last place off the start. Chris was able to quickly pass three riders, when on lap three Chris was launched off of his ski putting him in last place, Chris was able to get back on his ski before the leaders made there way around maintaining his position on the lead lap. Riding very aggressive Chris was able to pass several riders and make it all the way up to 6th place by then end of the race. With a 1-6 finish in Moto 1 and 2 Chris was not able to take the overall for the day instead the victory went to Ryan Hardwick, with Chris finishing in 2nd place overall. Despite the unfortunate result in Nashville, Chris was still able to capture the National Championship, giving Chris his 13th career US National Title.

In the Pro Runabout open class Chris entered the race on his recently built Yamaha FZR. In Moto one Chris MacClugage and his Yamaha took the victory over a line of Kawasaki riders including Craig Warner and Dustin Farthing. The Yamaha FZR was simply unbeatable, dominating Moto one and squashing any doubt about the FZR in the Open class. In Moto number 2 with the overall win virtually wrapped up just as long as Chris finished the race, Macc did what he needed to do and took a 2nd place conserving the boat and securing a 1st place finish for the day. Chris MacClugage is now preparing to do the same at the World Finals in October, returning home to Lake Havasu and wasting no time in preparation for what looks to be a very promising World Finals in 2009 in the Pro Runabout class.
Macc Racing’s hard work in 2009 paid off, with Chris MacClugage taking home a National Championship in the Pro Runabout Stock Class and Rachel MacClugage taking the National Title in the Pro Women’s Ski class. The Macc Racing team now looks towards the biggest race of the year, held in there own back yard in Lake Havasu for the 2009 IJSBA World Finals.
